Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you might be wondering before we begin.

What is holistic medicine? What is functional medicine?

Holistic medicine means we consider the whole person. We deeply believe in the interconnectedness between mind, body, and spirit. We seek to honor that relationship and restore balance to all areas. We welcome all conversations because every aspect of your life and your being shapes how you feel.

Functional medicine is a 'type' of holistic medicine that looks at how your body's systems work together, including your gut, hormones, stress response, and daily habits instead of treating each symptom in isolation. It uses in-depth testing and a detailed look at your history and lifestyle to find patterns and root causes, then builds a personalized plan around them.

Who is this for?

Anyone who wants a deeper understanding of their health. Some clients come with ongoing symptoms, a long list of 'normal' lab results, or a diagnosis they want to understand better. Others feel well and want a clear baseline so they can support their body before problems start.

Which package is right for me?

The best way to decide is a free discovery call. We'll talk through your goals and history and recommend the option that fits, with no pressure. In general, High Performer is built around one functional test and focuses mainly on athletic performance and recovery. Foundation includes two functional tests, and Complete Reset includes three for the deepest look at how your systems connect.

Are sessions in person or virtual?

Sessions are held virtually via video call on a HIPPA compliant platform.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are unhurried and conversational. We begin with a 90-minute initial consultation to understand your story and goals. Later sessions include a lab review, where we walk through your results in plain language, as well as follow-ups and a closing session.

How does lab testing work?

Functional lab testing looks deeper than standard labs at areas like gut health, hormones, food sensitivities and metabolic and nutrient status. Emilee orders and interprets every test personally.

Most functional tests are completed at home with clear instructions. Bloodwork is drawn at a lab. We are contracted with multiple labs across the country, allowing us to find the closest/best fit location for you depending on where you are located. Lab testing is not available to residents in NY, NJ, RI, or Puerto Rico, but don't let that stop you from reaching out! There are plenty of other ways that we can work together to support your health.

Share any recent labs, and we'll review them as part of your plan. We usually still proceed with bloodwork as a planned part of the package due to the fact that functional medicine looks at different labs and markers that are not routinely (or ever) checked. (For example, what is considered a complete thyroid panel for Wild Elevation Co includes a TSH, Free T4, Free T3, TPO antibodies, TGA antibodies, and reverse T3. Most people have only ever had a few of these checked and it's important that we get the full picture.)

Does Wild Elevation diagnose or treat conditions?

Wild Elevation does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, and they do not replace your medical provider. Emilee is a registered nurse with certification in functional medicine. Her role is to order and interpret functional and conventional lab testing, identify patterns, educate you, advocate for you, and build personalized recommendations surrounding nutrition, lifestyle, and supplements.

Will I be asked to take a lot of supplements?

Supplements are chosen specifically for you based on your results, and we aim to use only what you need for as long as you need it. Nutrition, lifestyle, and nervous system support, in addition to necessary supplements, make up the bulk of every plan.

Do you accept insurance?

We don't bill insurance, which lets us offer unhurried appointments and access to testing without the limits insurance coverage places on care. HSA and FSA payments are accepted. Coverage rules vary by plan, so check with your plan administrator if you have questions.

What are my payment options?

Each package can be paid in full or spread across a payment plan with a small processing fee. Part of our goal at Wild Elevation Co is to make functional medicine accessible, so we work closely with you to help decide what is the best structure to our work together, and what makes the most sense for you financially.

Is there a refund policy?

We don't offer refunds, because your testing is ordered and your time is reserved as soon as you enroll. The work we do together is a true collaboration and your results depend on many things, including how invested you are in the process. That's why we offer a discovery call, so you can ask questions and make sure this is a right fit. Once you begin, we're fully committed to supporting you every step of the way.

(We also understand that life is crazy and throws us curve balls. If you have an extenuating circumstance you'd like us to consider, please reach out and we can chat more.)

How do I begin?

Book a free discovery call. We'll talk about what you're looking for, answer your questions, and decide on the best fit for you.
